Shark Tale

1 hr. 30 min. Oscar (Will Smith) is a fast-talking little fish who dreams big. But his big dreams land him in hot water when a great white lie turns him into an unlikely hero. At first, his fellow fish swallow Oscar's story hook, line and sinker and he is showered with fame and fortune. It's all going along swimmingly, until it starts to become clear that Oscar's tale about being the defender of the Reef is all wet. Oscar is finding out that being a hero comes at a Market Price when his lie threatens to make him the Catch of the Day. Now he has to tread water until he can get the scales to tip back in his favor again.

상어 마피아 패밀리의 위력이 대단하다. 개봉 3주 차를 넘어선 <샤크 Shark Tale>가 지난 주말에도 약 2천2백만 달러를 벌어들이며 부동의 1위를 고수했다. 대부분의 영화가 개봉 주말 2~3일 정도 1위를 지키는 것을 감안할 때, 3주 연속 1위를 차지한 것은 근래에 보기 드문 대성공 사례라고 할 수 있다.

<슈렉 Shrek>의 제작진이 뭉쳤다는 것만으로도 개봉 전부터 큰 화제를 불러 모았던 <샤크>는 윌 스미스, 로버트 드 니로, 르네 젤위거, 안젤리나 졸리 등 초호화 스타들이 목소리 출연을 해 영화에 큰 힘을 실어 주었다. 전통적인 동화의 세계와 할리우드의 행태를 유쾌하게 풍자했던 <슈렉> 시리즈처럼, 갱스터 세계를 드림웍스 특유의 유머로 패러디한 점도 재미를 돋우었으며, 한스 짐머, 크리스티나 아길레라, 저스틴 팀버레이크 등이 참여한 음악 역시 관객들의 귀를 즐겁게 해주었다. <샤크>는 총수입 1억1천8백만 달러를 넘어섰다. 영화는 올 연말 국내 개봉 예정이다.

결국 우리나라에서는 크리스마스특집으로나 보겠고나..
